Sweat Lodge
Kelly Place has a sweat lodge
available
for your use. We can provide a spiritual leader for your event or
you can provide your own. You will need a fire handler to
attend the fire while you use the lodge. We can assist with additional
personnel as needed. Give us a call to arrange an
event for you!
Please note the following sweat lodge policy:
Our sweat
lodge is available for use by small groups up to about 10 people. We have
the proper wood to burn in the pit and the cost is $45 for
a load of wood (about 1/8 cord, pinion/cedar/aspen mix). You are responsible for removing
the lava rocks when you are through. Do not take any combustable material
into the lodge. Burning materials in the lodge produces hazardous carbon dioxide fumes. There is a
small ladle, bucket and hose tap nearby for water to splash
on the rocks to produce steam. Nearby you will find a shovel and pitch
fork to move the hot rocks. The sweat lodge may only be used when there is
not a fire ban in Montezuma County.
Please contact us to arrange for use
of the sweat lodge during your visit!
